The Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade handed a Certificate of Appreciation to the Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the Faculty. The Dean of the Faculty, Dr Petar Uskoković, presented Ms Erasmie, the Deputy Head of Mission with a certificate for the cooperation in supporting the “Green Transition – Implementation of the Industrial Emissions Directive in Serbia – IED Serbia” project.
In his speech, Prof. Dr Uskoković particularly emphasised the importance of involving students in the activities of the IED Serbia project at the initiative of Sweden, support to the “Tech Case Study” competition, as well as the support to training for the final year students on the implementation of environmental legislation, which have been implemented within the recently signed agreement on co-operation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
The Deputy Head of Mission, Ms Anna Sofia Erasmie, thanked for the honour, and expressed her satisfaction with the results achieved within the long-term cooperation between the Embassy of Sweden and the Faculty through the IED Serbia project, which has focused on providing support to the Ministry, other competent authorities and representatives of industry in achieving higher environmental standards. She emphasised the satisfaction that the Embassy, through this cooperation, played a role in supporting students and young professionals in their future pursuits.
The celebration of the Day of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy is celebrated every last Friday in November. At the ceremony, the Faculty gathers former and current students, professors, friends, partners, colleagues and guests, and presents the work and results achieved in the previous period, as well as strategies and plans for further development. This year, the Day of the Faculty was celebrated on 24th November.
