FTM students visit Tetra Pak factory

The visit to the “Tetra Pak d.o.o.” factory from Gornji Milanovac was organised as part of the practical session of the training “Application of regulations in the field of environmental protection: from theory to practice” for students of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade. A group of about twenty students visited the “Tetra Pak d.o.o.” factory from Gornji Milanovac, which is a leading manufacturer of liquid food packaging. The factory in Gornji Milanovac is one of the Tetra Pak’s factories in Europe and Central Asia, exporting its products worldwide.

The Tetra Pak factory is an example of good practice in its field because it constantly invests in production capacities and structure, with a commitment to environmental protection. At the beginning of the visit, students attended a brief training and lectures during which they had the opportunity to learn more about world-class production, i.e. WCM method (World Class Manufacturing), which represents a special methodology of production organisation and management. This was followed by a tour of the production facility and learning about production activities, equipment and engineers who provided professional guidance and clarification of the work process.

The visit to Tetra Pak was organised with the support of the IED Serbia project and realised together with the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement signed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia and the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade (FTM).
