The IED Serbia project participated in the regional consultation “Management of Industrial Wastewater and Integrated Hazardous Waste Management,” which was held from the 20th to the 21st of September in Šabac. Technical expert of the project, Dr Rada Petrović, delivered a lecture on wastewater management in the food industry and presented the manual “Water Efficiency and Waste Water Management in Food Processing Industry” which was developed as part of the previous IED Serbia project.
The conference was also an opportunity to showcase new technological solutions from practice and propose new legislative solutions for waste reduction, increased economic circularity, and a higher degree of recycling. A visit to the factory complex “Elixir Zorka” and the public utility company “Vodovod – Šabac” was organised.
The consultation was held with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia, the Republic Water Directorate, and the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection.
