The IED Serbia Project participated in the “Nordic-Serbian Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture” conference, held in the Science and Technology Park in Novi Sad. This conference was dedicated to the application of the state-of-the-art technologies from Denmark, but also to the experience of Serbia in creating sustainable agriculture.
Dr. Aleksandar Ćosović presented the application of Best Available Techniques for intensive pig rearing facilities on behalf of the IED Serbia Project, which is supported by Sweden, and he also briefly referred to legal obligations of these operators in compliance with the Law on IPPC. At the end of the presentation, Dr. Ćosović presented the manuals drafted in the previous project phase pertaining to energy efficiency, and guidelines for preparation of applications for integrated permits for poultry and pig farms.
“Nordic Green Project – Sustainable Solutions for Serbia” is an initiative implemented by four Nordic countries represented by the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in Serbia, i.e., ambassadors of these countries, Susan Schein, Kimmo Lähdevirta, Jørn Eugene Gjelstad and Annika Ben David. “Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture” was an event organised by the Embassy of Denmark in Serbia. Three more conferences dedicated to different topics are planned, and each of the Nordic Embassies will have a special responsibility in presentation thereof. The next event will be organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway on 15 November in Belgrade, the topic of which will be renewable energy sources. Two more events will be organised next year – a conference “Swedish Solutions for Waste Separation and Recycling” to be held in Čačak on 1 February 2023, followed by the conference in Niš to be held on the next day, organised by Finland, and dealing with the topic of green industrial processes.
