The Ministry of Environmental Protection, with the support of the IED Serbia project, recently completed the revision of two bylaws related to the layout of the application for integrated permit and the content of integrated permit. The adoption of these regulations in mid-January of this year was preceded by extensive preparation, numerous consultative meetings, and stakeholder alignment at all levels. The new bylaws, in line with the existing Law on IPPC, were developed to streamline the application process and issuance of integrated permits, aiming to increase the efficiency of the process by considering the obligations that operators and competent authorities must fulfil by the end of 2024.
With the new amendment to the Rulebook on the content, form and manner of filing the application for integrated permit, Form 1 for industry has been simplified, while a new Form 3 for landfills has been added. This recognition of the need for a separate application form for these activities due to their specificity aims to simplify the application process for this group of operators. This form was presented in detail to operators at a sectoral workshop and roundtable held in November of last year.
