Opening Conference of the project was organized in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. The Conference took place in Belgrade on April 12, 2018 on the premises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
At the opening session of the conference participants were greeted by Swedish Ambassador H.E. Mr. Jan Lundin, Minister of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Goran Trivan, Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Prof. Đorđe Janaćković and Miroslav Lutovac, Director of the Industry Sector, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. All speakers have expressed delight for the continuation of the mutual cooperation that was initiated with previous project.
In his speech HE Mr. Jan Lundin has emphasized the willingness of Sweden to support Serbia in its effort to meet the requirements and implementation of Chapter 27, while Mr. Goran Trivan has expressed gratitude to Swedish Embassy for the involvement and support over the years and highlighted the importance of the project for both the Ministry and Serbian industry.
In the working part of the conference, Mr. Aleksandar Vesić, Assistant Minister of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, has presented the Ministry’s role in preparation of the negotiating position for the Chapter 27 and highlighted the importance of the Directive Specific Implementation Plan (DSIP) for IED.
Project coordinator Ms. Bojana Vukadinović and Key Technical expert Mr. Riccardo Quaggiato have presented the project and the activities related to the revision of the Directive Specific Implementation Plan for IED.
Prof. Aleksandar Jovović, technical expert on the project, has discussed the implementation of the best available techniques as a mean to achieve defined emission limit values, while Prof. Đorđe Mitrović, financial expert on the project, has presented the methodology for assessment of financial sustainability of the companies that will be applied in the financial analysis during preparation of the DSIP.
Closing the conference, representative of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr Dušan Stokić, coordinator of the sector for environmental protection, has once again emphasized the importance of the DSIP for IED in Serbia.
Final session was dedicated to discussion with the participants and representatives of the media. Leaflets about the Project and promotional material were distributed to participants.
