A roundtable for competent authorities and installations from several industrial sectors covered by the Industrial Emissions Directive, such as representatives of chemical, metal, mineral and similar industries, i.e. representatives of industries that they were not included in other sectoral workshops, was held in Belgrade on November 14, 2023. The training and roundtable were organised by the Ministry of Environmental Protection with the support of the project “EU for the Green Agenda in Serbia”, and in collaboration with the IED Serbia project. This is the third in a series of sectoral trainings dedicated to building and strengthening capacities for the issuance of integrated permits.
Participants had the opportunity to learn more about the procedures for issuing integrated permits and the legal framework of the Republic of Serbia in this area. They were informed about investment support programs within the “EU for the Green Agenda in Serbia” project and became acquainted with planned amendments to the Rulebook on the content, form and manner of filing the application for integrated permit and the Rulebook on the content and layout of the integrated permit.
A roundtable followed dedicated to the challenges and obstacles in the process of issuing integrated permits, as well as proposals for their resolution and overcoming. Representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and experts from both projects responded to numerous questions from participants in the room and those following the event online.
