The three-day visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment of Albania to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia was organised with the aim of exchanging experience in the field EU negotiations for Chapter 27 – environment and climate change.
The study visit of the Albanian delegation took place within the framework of the Program “Supporting Albanian Negotiations in Environment – Chapter 27” (SANE27) with the aim of transferring knowledge and Serbian experience from the EU accession negotiations concerning Chapter 27. Albanian delegation showed the most interest in the negotiation structure of Chapter 27, coordination with other institutions that are members of Negotiating Group 27, and issues related to the transposition and implementation of regulations in the field of chemicals, air protection, nature protection, and industrial pollution. These questions were answered by representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Serbian Environmental Protection Agency, the Ministry of European Integration, and the IED Serbia project experts. In the framework of the previous IED Serbia project, the Directive Specific Implementation Plan (DSIP) for Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) was prepared, which will be completed within the new project together with the preparation of the Directive Specific Implementation Plan for the EU Directive on the Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).
The program Supporting Albanian Negotiation in Environment – Chapter 27 (SANE27) Phase II, aims to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Tourism and Environment of Albania in the process of preparing the Negotiating Position for Chapter 27. The program is implemented by “Brooks Hannas & Partners” and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
