Supporting the process of issuing integrated permits is one of the key activities within the technical support provided by the Project to competent authorities in Serbia. Fifteen draft integrated permits will be prepared in cooperation with representatives of competent authorities, with the aim of analysing and solving together any legal and technical challenges related to specific industrial sectors.
In order to provide the maximum support of the Project, a selection of operators will be made in agreement with the competent Ministry from different industrial sectors covered by the Directive, as well as from different districts in Serbia. First three operators for which draft integrated permits were prepared were visited in July as part of the mission of international project experts: Tom Stafford, Patrick Lawrence Sweeney and Frank Clinton. The first group of operators included “Drenik ND” Ltd. from Belgrade, a company engaged in the production of paper products for personal and household use, “Alumil YU Industry” j.s.c. from Nova Pazova, engaged in the production of aluminium profiles and products for civil engineering, and regional landfill “Regionalna deponija” Ltd. Subotica.
The second group of selected operators for which draft integrated permits were prepared includes company “Papir print” Ltd. from Gornji Milanovac, dealing with the production of flexible packaging, company “Valjaonica bakra Sevojno” from Sevojno, dealing with the production of copper and copper alloy products, and “Elixir Zorka” from Šabac, a company engaged in the production of mineral fertilisers. These companies were visited within the October mission of international project experts.
