The City Administration for Property, Economy and Environmental Protection of the City of Niš has issued a decision granting an integrated permit to the operator PUC “Gradska toplana Niš” for the operation of the entire installation and the carrying out of energy production activities at the “Jug” Heating Plant site. This is the first integrated permit issued by this competent authority.
The draft integrated permit was prepared within the framework of the IED Serbia project, in cooperation with the competent authorities of the City of Niš. The application for the integrated permit and the supporting documentation were prepared through the project “EU for Green Agenda in Serbia”, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The “Jug” Heating Plant, operated by the public utility company “Gradska toplana Niš”, is engaged in the production and distribution of thermal energy in the City of Niš. The issuance of this permit will contribute to more effective prevention and control of air pollution, as well as to the improvement of ambient air quality in Niš.
