Following a two-day workshop for competent authorities responsible for issuing integrated permits, the May mission of international experts within the IED Serbia project was marked by the continuation of training in the field for environmental protection inspectors.
Experts from Ireland, Patrick Lawrence Sweeney and Tom Stafford, together with the project team, carried out a series of activities aimed at improving the monitoring and control of installations subject to the Law on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control.
Trainings covered key aspects of inspection process, including inspection planning, simulation of site visits under real conditions, as well as reporting on conducted activities.
In order to ensure the widest possible coverage of various industrial sectors and provide inspectors with practical insight into the specifics of supervision in various environments, field activities were carried out in several industrial installations. The first visits as part of the mission were organised at the “Hajdučica” poultry farm in Hajdučica, the “Vibac Balkani” plant in Jagodina, and the “FCC Eko doo” landfill in Lapovo.
