Two-Day Workshop for Competent Authorities Held as Part of the Third Training Module

A two-day workshop aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of competent authorities involved in the integrated permitting process was held in Belgrade on May 19 and 20, 2025. The workshop, implemented as the third module of the training program within the IED Serbia project, was dedicated to topics related to air emissions from industrial installations, as well as noise and odour management.

This activity is a continuation of efforts aimed at strengthening the capacity of competent authorities for issuing integrated permits, and the training program is designed to include theoretical presentations, analysis of concrete cases and practical exercises. The workshop was delivered by international experts engaged on the project – Patrick Lawrence Sweeney and Tom Stafford. The workshop was organised in a hybrid format, which enabled the participation of representatives who were not able to attend in person.

The workshop was followed by more than 70 participants from the national, provincial and local levels. Held in a dynamic and constructive atmosphere, the event encouraged active participation and discussion among attendees.

Upon completion of the training, all participants were awarded certificates. The third training module represents the final stage within this series of capacity-building activities designed for institutions involved in the IPPC permitting system.
