The project “Green transition – Implementing Industrial Emissions Directive in Serbia (IED Serbia)”, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, organised a technical workshop on 29 May 2025 in Belgrade, dedicated to new categories and subcategories of industrial activities that, due to the harmonization of national regulations with the Industrial Emissions Directive 2010/75/EU (IED), will be subject to the obligation to obtain an integrated permit (IPPC permit).
The workshop was primarily intended for representatives of industrial installations that, under the upcoming amendments to the Law on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control, will for the first time be required to obtain an integrated permit. In addition to operators, the event was attended by representatives of competent authorities responsible for issuing integrated permits, as well as environmental inspection bodies, given their key role in the enforcement of regulations and preventive action in the field of environmental protection.
Participants were presented with key changes to the legislative framework in the Republic of Serbia, new industrial activities that will be subject to integrated permitting, relevant BREF documents, best available techniques (BAT) and BAT-associated emission levels (BAT-AEL), as well as a tool for assessing compliance with BAT for new categories of activities.
The workshop was delivered by representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, together with international and national experts engaged in the IED Serbia project.
