A public call is currently open, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), to provide advice to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to help them grow, succeed, and become catalysts for the economy at the local and regional levels.
Through this programme, expert assistance is offered from both local consultants and international advisors who can help transform businesses of all sizes and from various sectors, and improve overall operations.
Support is available to enterprises across different industries – including food production, trade and distribution, construction, and engineering – throughout the country, typically over a period of four to six months.
Advisory services are offered in the following areas:
- Strategy
- Marketing
- Organisation
- Processes
- Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
- Engineering solutions
- Quality management
- Financial management
- Energy efficiency and environmental protection
Eligibility criteria for applicants include:
- Size: up to €50 million in annual turnover or with a balance sheet total of less than €43 million. Typically, we work with enterprises with fewer than 250 employees.
- Ownership: we work with private businesses owned by local nationals
- Maturity: almost all of our work is with businesses that have been in operation for more than two years.
- Sector: we work with businesses from almost every sector and industry. We cannot work with enterprises engaged in military activities or production, tobacco or gambling.
- Integrity: we expect the companies we work with to abide by high standards of integrity. We do not work with businesses that have ongoing or previous legal proceedings in place that might affect the implementation of the project.
Financing
The projects are implemented thanks to funding from the EU, Luxembourg, Sweden, and the EBRD Special Shareholders Fund.
The application deadline is 31 December 2027.
