Integrated Permit Issued to the “Impol Seval” company from Sevojno

The Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia has issued a Decision on the issuance of an integrated permit to the aluminium rolling mill “Impol Seval” a.d. from Sevojno, for the operation of the installation and for carrying out aluminium and aluminium alloy processing activities, surface treatment of metals through chemical processes, as well as surface treatment of materials using organic solvents.

The draft integrated permit for this company was prepared within the “IED Serbia” project in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, and it prescribed the conditions for the installation operation and carrying out of three IED activities – aluminium processing, surface treatment of metal and activities that include the use organic solvents. Drafting of the permit required the support of a team of experts from several EU member states, who conveyed their knowledge about the latest BAT conclusions for surface treatment with organic solvents, together with practical experience in prescribing operating conditions and control in the installation.

The “Impol Seval” installation is one of two largest industrial installations in the Užice region, Western Serbia. By obtaining the integrated permit, the procedures and processes related to process wastewater treatment, metal waste management and the reduction of air emissions were improved, which is of particular importance considering that this industrial installation is located in the very settlement.
