The eighth edition of the IED Serbia newsletter provides an overview of recent activities, along with the latest news and updates in the field of industrial pollution and green transition.
This issue highlights the new Industrial Emissions Directive 2.0, which came into force in August this year. The revised directive introduces updates aimed at reducing emissions and promoting innovation through resource efficiency, circular economy, and decarbonization. In an interview with Mr Alex Radway, an international consultant and expert on pollution control from large industrial installations, we explore the new aspects of the revised directive, the importance of applying Best Available Techniques (BAT), and its potential impact on the competent authorities and operators required to obtain integrated permits.
The new project film Green Horizons is also presented, which empowers students as future environmental leaders. This film, created in collaboration with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Sweden, presents the role of students in promoting sustainable industrial practices and showcases numerous educational activities conducted within the IED Serbia Project.
