In the eleventh edition of the IED Serbia project newsletter, we present the latest updates on realised activities and achieved results that contribute to strengthening the capacities of competent authorities in the field of integrated permitting and industrial pollution reduction.
This issue highlights the newly issued integrated permits prepared by our experts in cooperation with relevant institutions. We also report on workshops held as part of the second and third modules of technical training aimed at building the capacity of competent authorities responsible for issuing integrated permits.
The newsletter further covers activities from the international expert missions, as well as current calls and news in the areas of industrial pollution, green transition, and alignment with EU environmental legislation.
This edition includes an interview with Dr Richard Schlachta, international expert of the IED Serbia project, who brings over three decades of experience in the development and implementation of environmental legislation. He shares his insights on the main challenges of aligning with EU standards, the significance of newly introduced IPPC activities, and the project’s role in supporting operators and institutions.
