A two-day workshop for representatives of competent authorities responsible for issuing integrated permits was held in Belgrade on 24-25 March 2025. The workshop aimed to strengthen capacities and improve understanding of the permitting process, including the requirements of the Industrial Emissions Directive and the application of Best Available Techniques (BAT).
The training was delivered by international experts from the IED Serbia project – Leo Sweeney, Tom Stafford, and Alex Radway. Organised in a hybrid format, the workshop enabled participation for those unable to attend in person.
More than 50 representatives from national, provincial, and local level authorities had the opportunity to gain new knowledge and exchange experiences through practical examples and interactive discussions. At the end of the training, all participants received certificates.
This was the first of three planned workshops within the capacity-building activities for competent authorities involved in the integrated permitting process.
