During 2025, three new educational workshops under the “Eco Heroes” programme were delivered within the IED Serbia project. Two workshops were held for fourth-graders of Starina Novak Primary School and third-graders of Nikola Tesla Primary School, while the third workshop brought together children of different ages from several schools.
With the support of student mentors and teaching staff from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, pupils donned laboratory coats, solved educational “eco puzzles” and explored the basic principles of environmental protection in an age-appropriate manner. The workshops were designed to encourage curiosity, teamwork and an understanding of the links between everyday activities and nature conservation.
The “Eco Heroes” programme represents one of the ways in which the IED Serbia project contributes to raising awareness and strengthening the knowledge among younger generations on environmental protection and sustainable development, while actively engaging students and the academic community in educational activities for children.
